The Peru team stands out day after day in the Asunción 2022 South American Games. This Thursday, Krishna Cortez and Luis Sacha are the protagonists of a victory in the mixed traditional pair poomsae taekwondo competition. Thanks to this, the duo won a gold medal, the fifth for the Peruvian team in Paraguay.

The national duo reached a total of 7,355 points to step onto the podium in first place and win the gold medal. Meanwhile, Brazil (Alex Silva and Lina Leal) scored 7,140 points to achieve second place and the silver medal. Argentina (Rubén Guagliarello and Margarita Echevarría) and Colombia (Leandro Rodríguez and Dariana Suache) finished third and won the bronze medal.
The poomsae taekwondo had already brought a gold medal for Peru through Hugo del Castillo in the men's individual event. Meanwhile, Carmela De la Barra won bronze in the same discipline, but in the women's category. Recently, Krishna Cortez and Luis Sacha joined their teammates in this discipline.
