Universitario de Deportes continues to grow institutionally, as it has inaugurated its Center of High Performance, with which it will try to ensure that its youth academies receive better training before becoming professional players.
And one of those invited to this ceremony was the general football director of the Peruvian Football Federation, Juan Carlos Oblitas, highlighting that he is proud to have been part of this progress made by the cream team.
"We are proud of the inauguration of the Center of High Performance. What we do at Universitario is a social issue because we are practically changing the lives of many people. We want to be pioneers, take that first step that our football needs in order to change," he said.
Likewise, the 'Ciego' stated that this advancement that the merengue institution has had should be replicated by all clubs in Liga 1, ensuring that what the 'U' has done is an example for everyone.
"Sports is what identifies us and it is something that our authorities must understand, that is why everyone should follow the example that the 'U' is giving. I won't go on any longer, simply thank Jean Ferrari and the entire club. I feel very proud to be part of and sponsor this first stage of the Center of High Performance of Universitario de Deportes that I know will continue to grow. Thank you very much and keep going on that path," he explained.

Oblitas scolds politicians
Finally, Juan Carlos Oblitas feels that sports is being forgotten by politicians, stating that if it were up to him, he would reprimand them. "Sports in political life has been forgotten. It's a reprimanding that I give. They don't realize that football and sports in general are the only things that fully integrate us in Peru," he concluded.
