Apparently, the young man is a follower of Rafael López Aliaga, who ran for mayor under the party Renovación Popular. The young man trusted the polls and bet 15,000 soles in favor of this candidate.
A ticket that left more than one internet user surprised went viral on social media. According to the ticket, the betting house paid 2.65 for the popular candidate. If the results are positive, the young man could win 39,750 soles.
At 5:00 in the afternoon, the America Televisión channel broadcasted the electoral flash that announced Rafael López Aliaga as the virtual winner with 26.8% of votes. However, the official results from the National Office of Electoral Processes are still pending.
On the other hand, Piero Corvetto, head of the ONPE, indicated that the first official results will be released approximately between 8:00 pm and 11:00 pm on Sunday, October 2.
