How to make new towels dry well

Today we will tell you some homemade tricks to make the most of your towels. Let's first see how to do the first wash of a new towel to get rid of this fabric softener and make them dry perfectly:

• It is important that the first wash is only for the new towels, without mixing them with other types of clothes, and not reaching the maximum capacity of the washing machine. It will be better if we only fill it half the washing load.
• Then, select a rinse cycle with hot water and let the washing machine fill completely.
• Add a cup of vinegar to the hot water, which will help remove the fabric softeners from the towels and also helps to soften them, but avoiding the oily effect.
• The next step is to perform a complete washing cycle and, once it has finished and without removing the towels from the washing machine, repeat the whole process, but this time, instead of vinegar, add half a cup of baking soda.

Attention: we should not mix vinegar and baking soda in the same washing cycle because the chemical reaction can cause excess foam and damage the washing machine.

How to wash towels

• We must avoid using fabric softeners when washing towels because they contain oils that affect the drying capacity of the towels. If you like to use fabric softener in the washing machine, we must do it in cycles where only towels are washed.
• It's better to use only half the amount of detergent as this, like fabric softeners, can leave oils on the towels that repel liquids and therefore reduce drying capacity.
• Finally, it's better not to overload the washing machine when washing towels so that the detergent is distributed evenly. Otherwise, a towel may receive a higher amount of detergent, which will affect the towel's fabrics and make them dry less.
