Rafa Benitez already has almost all his players on vacation after Casemiro and James Rodriguez finished their participation in the Copa America. Both are already enjoying a few days of rest that will conclude on July 23, the date on which their vacations will end to start the preseason with the team two days later in China. Madrid returns to work on July 10 and travels to Australia on the 12th. But James and Casemiro will not be present in that first phase of the preseason.
At the moment, practically the entire Madrid squad is already enjoying their summer vacation. The only one who is not is Marco Asensio. The Mallorcan player is training with the U-19 National Team, preparing for the European Championship which will start on July 7. If Spain reaches the final on the 19th, the midfielder will join Benitez's orders during the second week of the stage in Australia.
The summer has not been very fortunate for Madrid, as they have seen three of their players get injured: Marcelo, Danilo, and Keylor Navas. In principle, the two full-backs will have no problem starting the preseason with the rest of their teammates. The goalkeeper is pending the evolution of his Achilles tendon tendinopathy.
