The 2022 South American Games will be held from October 1st and soccer is one of the disciplines in competition. Precisely, the Peruvian Under-20 team will participate in the tournament, although without one of the promising stars from Liga 1 reserves: Sebastien Pineau, from Alianza Lima, will play for the Chilean national team.

The talented athlete, who has dual citizenship of both South American countries, as well as French nationality, chose to represent the 'Roja' in the championship organized by Odesur. The determination of the young forward was confirmed after the call-up by Patricio Ormazábal, his coach.
The press in Chile celebrated Pineau's choice, although there was a message that sparked controversy. Through its website, Red Gol generated controversy by announcing the unfavorable decision for the 'Blanquirroja': "Peru cries: promising forward from Alianza Lima will play for Chile in the Odesur Games".
It is worth mentioning that the 'Blanquiazules' footballer had participated in the 'Roja' tour in Spain, in the matches against England, Australia, and Morocco. Similarly, the note adds that the scorer "leaves the Peruvian national team wanting more". Undoubtedly, the Chilean team is happy with Sebastien's presence in the Under-20 squad and surely aspires to the title.
Let's remember that the Chilean national team is in Group B of the Odesur Games, with Ecuador, Colombia, and Argentina as opponents. On the other hand, the Peruvian Under-20 team, under the orders of coach Gustavo Roverano, is in Group A, with their counterparts from Paraguay, Venezuela, and Uruguay.
