The Argentine goalkeeper Agustín Marchesín reiterated the affection he holds for América, the team he played for during two years, by sharing that he suffered when he stopped wearing the blue and cream colors.

In an interview for LaLiga, the South American goalkeeper revealed that "I left América crying," as he felt very loved and achieved important things, such as winning the Apertura 2018 title.

"It really cost me a lot because it was a more family decision, so to speak, because I didn't want to know anything about leaving there," the goalkeeper asserted.

Similarly, Marchesín reiterated that "it was really hard for me to leave, I even think it took me years to accept that I left."

"Playing in the Champions League was the dream, what it meant, what it was like to play in Europe, but it was very difficult for me. It took me years to accept that I left," said the Argentine, who is currently the goalkeeper for Celta de Vigo.

"I was on vacation in my town when I received a call from my agent telling me that the club had sold me and that I had to negotiate my contract," commented Marchesín about how he found out that he would not continue with the Águilas.

Likewise, he stated that he couldn't describe in words the greatness of América and what it represented for him to wear its colors.

"Arriving at América was a dream come true because of what it represents nationally and internationally, because it is a very big club and one knows América from the inside with the magnitude it has. It is impossible to truly describe what it represents," said Marchesín.
