Claudio Pizarro is the most successful footballer in the history of Peruvian football. His 19 titles support him. However, his younger brother, named Diego (32 years old), could not follow the same path. Although he started his career in German football, he could not stand out and his greatest trophy was in the Second Division of Peru. What happened to his life?

In 2005, Diego joined the youth teams of Bayern Munich and surprised with his talent as an attacking midfielder. There he began to write his story as a professional player. His ability led him to be part of the Bayern Munich II, the reserve team of the 'Gigante de Baviera'. However, he never got minutes with the first team, so in 2009 he decided to return to Peru.
His arrival at Peruvian clubs
He arrived at Bolognesi de Tacna, but an injury prevented him from making his debut with the team. 'Bolo' lost the category that year, so Diego did not continue in the following season. In 2010, on the other hand, he signed with Sport Boys, where he only played two matches. It was in the 'Misilera' that Claudio's brother was able to officially debut in a First Division league, in this case the Peruvian league. It was against José Gálvez, in May 2010, with a defeat for the rosada squad.
Subsequently, he played for teams such as Colegio Nacional de Iquitos (CNI), Cienciano, Unión Comercio, FBC Melgar, Juan Aurich, and Cantolao. And it was in 'Delfín' where he obtained the biggest and only trophy of his career: the title of the Second Division of Peru in 2016, which allowed the club to ascend to the highest category of national football. He remained in Cantolao until 2019 and then in 2020 he returned to Liga 2 to defend the colors of Comerciantes Unidos.
What is he doing currently?
According to the specialized website Transfermarkt, Diego Pizarro, who played as a winger in recent years, has been without a team since January 1, 2021, after leaving Comerciantes Unidos. Today, he has made news again because he will be present in the farewell match of his brother Claudio at the Weserstadion in Bremen this Saturday.
Diego will be part of the 'Friends of Claudio' team, along with Felix Wiedwald, Sebastian Boenisch, Mikael Silvestre, Santiago García, Johannes Mösmang, Felix Neureuther, Jurica Vranjes, Daniel Baier, Joko Winterscheidt, Max van der Groeben, Felix Kroos, Maximilian Eggestein, Max Kruse, Marko Marin, Fin Bartels, Nelson Haedo Valdez, and Anthony Ujah. The coach will be Florian Kohfeldt.
