MADRID, Sep 21 (EUROPA PRESS) -

The Spanish women's football team will begin preparations for the 2023 World Cup in Australia and New Zealand with a friendly match on October 7 against Sweden (20:30) in "the kingdom of Cordoba football."

At an event held in Cordoba attended by national coach Jorge Vilda; the director of women's football at RFEF, Ana Álvarez; and the vice president of RFEF and president of the Andalusian Federation, Pablo Lozano, a match has been presented that will seek to bring together the majority of fans, with tickets at popular prices of 8, 10, and 12 euros to fill El Arcángel stadium.

Pablo Lozano, who referred to the stadium as "the kingdom of Cordoba football," thanked the institutions for their willingness to "commit to women's football decisively for major events in Andalusia."

"We want Cordoba residents to go see the women's national team with their families and support our national team," Lozano emphasized. The vice president of RFEF also praised the work of Jorge Vilda, which benefits both the national team and the youth categories. "Thanks to the work you are doing, a great foundation for women's football is being created in Spain," he said.

In the presentation, the territorial delegate of the Ministry of Tourism, Culture, and Sports of the Junta de Andalucía in Cordoba, Eduardo Lucena, also participated, who recalled that the celebration of this match is part of the plan to host 24 national team matches in Andalusia until 2025.

"The Junta continues and will continue to bet on Andalusia becoming a sports reference, and matches and events like the one we are presenting today demonstrate this," Lucena highlighted.

The Cordoba County Council was also represented by its sports delegate, Ana Blanco, who stated that the Spanish national team "is a benchmark that has broken many barriers in the fight against inequality" and highlighted that, with these types of events, "Cordoba once again consolidates itself as a province prepared for major sports events."
