Alianza Lima continues the search for a head coach for the first team, after the departure of Carlos Bustos. It was José Bellina, the sporting director of the blanquiazul club, who stated that there are six names under evaluation, most of them foreigners, including those with experience in the Liga 1.

With this defined profile, it was only a matter of time before Carlos Desio learned of the interest from La Victoria in his style of work, a fact that he confirmed in a dialogue with Infobae: "I read that I am on Alianza Lima's list and that is good, that they consider me, but I also know that there will be other renowned coaches."

Despite the tough competition, the former coach of Sport Huancayo expressed that "if it happens, it would be an important step in my career". So far, Desio has been in charge of two Peruvian clubs, first Deportivo Binacional (from June to December 2021) and then Sport Huancayo (from December 2021 to August 2022).

In the case of 'Poderoso del Sur', Desio led 20 matches last year, including one in the Copa Bicentenario, 17 matches in the Clausura Tournament, and two in the fight to stay in Liga 1. In total, he accumulated seven victories, three draws, and ten defeats, with 31 goals scored and 40 conceded.

In the case of Sport Huancayo, he came very close to tasting the Apertura title, but the trophy went to Melgar. After the tournament, he did not have the expected start to the Clausura of this season, so the management opted for his departure. He played 23 matches with 'Rojo Matador', with 13 wins, six draws, and four defeats, scoring 44 goals and conceding 25.

In addition to his experience in the local championship, he has also been to Brazil, working as an assistant coach at Atlético Mineiro (2020-2021) and Santos FC (2019). He has also worked with the youth teams of the Argentine national team, as the coach of the U-15 and U-20 teams, as well as supporting the U-17 team.
