Surprise in Italy. Napoli took advantage of a defensive mistake by England and scored the 2-0 against Liverpool for the 2022-23 Champions League.

A penalty was committed by Virgil Van Dijk, which was executed by Victor Osimhen, but he failed to score and the game remained at the first goal.

However, Napoli did not give up and at 31 minutes André-Frank Zambo Anguissa scored with a left-footed shot towards the left post for the joy at San Paolo.

Liverpool has a long way to go to recover the form that took them to the final of the previous edition of the Champions League.

Napoli overwhelmed the English club on Wednesday with a 4-1 victory, with three goals in the first half, in the opening match of the group stage.

Piotr Zielinski converted a penalty, André-Frank Zambo Anguissa doubled the lead shortly after the half-hour mark.

And just before halftime, a goal from substitute Giovanni Simeone arrived, son of the Argentine coach of Atletico Madrid, Diego Simeone. The 27-year-old player made his debut in this competition.

Zielinski added another goal a couple of minutes after the break. Colombian Luis Diaz scored the consolation goal for the Reds, on a counterattack in the 49th minute.
