Nick Kyrgios once again lost his temper after being eliminated in the quarterfinals.

Anger issues. Nick Kyrgios once again became the protagonist of a regrettable episode after being eliminated by Karen Khachanov in the quarterfinals of the US Open.

The Australian, currently ranked 25th in the ATP ranking, lost 7-5, 4-6, 7-5, 6-7 (3) and 6-4 against his Russian rival in a match that lasted three hours and 40 minutes at Arthur Ashe Stadium.

Kyrgios had an impressive opening week in New York, defeating Thanasi Kokkinakis, Benjamin Bonzi, and J.J. Wolf before delivering an incredible performance in the fourth round against Daniil Medvedev.

After the incident, the athlete spoke to the press and stated that "what has happened is devastating, not only for me but for everyone who wanted to see me win. I feel like a... I have let down a lot of people."

The 27-year-old tennis player also made controversial statements regarding other tournaments and the spectators who follow his career. The Australian confirmed that he had knee discomfort at the beginning of the match and that, little by little, those pains increased.

"I don't care if I play more tournaments or not. Besides the Grand Slams, the other tournaments are a waste of time. People don't care if you have improved on a day-to-day basis, or if you lost in four sets, or if you played one of your best matches. What people remember in a Grand Slam is if you win or lose," Kyrgios said.
