It was a good day for Mexicans in Dutch football this Sunday
Jorge Sánchez made his official debut with Ajax in the match against Utrecht, in which Edson Álvarez provided an assist to contribute to the 2-0 victory.
The Mexican defender had to wait for a game to play his first minutes with the Amsterdam team, as he was on the bench last week, but this time Devyne Rensch's injury gave him the opportunity to step onto the field.
In the 38th minute, the Dutch full-back had to leave the field so that the Mexican national team, who is looking to secure a spot in the 2022 Qatar World Cup, could make his debut with his new team and had a good performance.
Sánchez entered the match when Ajax was already winning 1-0 thanks to Steven Berghuis's goal with an assist from Edson Álvarez, who proves to be a key player for the team from the capital of the Netherlands in every match.
From the 19th minute, the former América defender prepared for his debut, as the coaching staff asked him to speed up his warm-up when Rensch showed serious discomfort, which prevented him from continuing to play, and in this way, Jorge achieved his goal of playing his first minutes in Europe.
Brian Brobbey scored Ajax's second goal to seal the victory and with it three points that sent the club to the top of the Eredivisie.
With this result and performance by Jorge Sánchez, as well as Edson Álvarez, Mexicans in Dutch football had a great weekend, as Santiago Giménez made his debut as a goalscorer by scoring his first goal with Feyenoord against Emmen.
On the other hand, Erick Gutiérrez provided an assist to Xavi Simons in the rout that PSV inflicted on Excelsior, and with that, the Mexican teams are in the top 3 of the Dutch First Division.
