Football has returned to the main leagues in Europe, so all the players are focused on starting the season on the right foot. However, unfortunately, the first case of robbery to a footballer while playing a LaLiga match is already known. This time it was Samu Castillejo , who recently joined Valencia this season.

At 27 years old, the victim was Castillejo who started as a starter in the match against Girona that took place on Sunday at the Mestalla Stadium. While playing his first minutes with the club, the thieves targeted the residence where he lives during his stay in Spain.

Samu Castillejo reported that his house in Valencia was burglarized while he was playing the first LaLiga match in Spain. This happened in order to carry out the respective investigations to find the culprits and seek justice for the stolen items from his empty home.

The winger shared a video on social media showing the closets and drawers turned upside down and clothes scattered on the floor, lamenting that the thieves had taken "material, personal, and sentimental things," in a bid to elicit a reaction from his followers.

Samu Castillejo was born in Barcelona and raised in Malaga, where he played in the youth academy. In July 2015, he was sold to Villarreal for 8 million euros, and in August 2018, Milan invested 21.3 million in him. After four seasons in Italy, the Spanish player signed with Valencia this season as a free agent.

In this European summer, Castillejo is not the first victim to suffer the same wave of robberies. Two other players who went through the same situation were Fede Valverde and Marco Veratti, who also had to reorganize certain details due to incidents during their rest period.
