The Spanish forward of the Catalan team is buzzing as the next target of Real Madrid in the current summer transfer window.

The Spanish forward of the Catalan team is buzzing as the next target of Real Madrid in the current summer transfer window.

One of the players who is being strongly rumored as the next signing of Real Madrid is Raúl de Tomás. After the sale of Borja Mayoral to Getafe and the imminent departure of Dominican Mariano Díaz in the current summer transfer market, the LaLiga and Champions League champion has set their sights on the Espanyol player. However, the leadership of the Catalan club has denied receiving any offer for him. Likewise, the higher-ups made it clear that the attacker, who was trained in Valdebebas, is currently separated from the group despite not having played any minutes with the team yet.

Last June, Raúl de Tomás suffered a respiratory infection with the Spanish national team that prevented him from playing in the Nations League matches with the team led by Luis Enrique. In addition, the player had permission from the club to join the Periquitos squad later.

Espanyol downplays the controversy and assures that once he acquires the appropriate rhythm, he will participate normally in training sessions. He is, for all intents and purposes, just another member of the squad, and according to the club, his specific work is not a punishment or a supposed confrontation with coach Diego Martínez.

In any case, reports about the player's situation occur almost daily. Some media outlets claim that the player's relationship with the coach is deteriorated due to excessively selfish requests from the Madrid-born forward.

From a market perspective, RDT's situation has not changed. Despite recent rumors linking him to teams like Real Madrid, the offices of RCDE Stadium have not received any official or unofficial proposals for the club's franchise player.

The officials of the Blanquiazul entity have no interest in putting RDT on the market and trust that the player's sporting performance, from which they hope he continues to score goals with Espanyol this season, will gradually eclipse what they define as rumors.

In any case, the position of the Blanquiazul directors regarding a hypothetical departure of Raúl de Tomás has always been clear: he has a contract until June 30, 2026, and a release clause of 70 million euros.
