Due to the financial crisis that the Peruvian Volleyball Federation (FPV) is going through, which affects the members of the national team, the players decided to seek help from comedians Ricardo Mendoza and Jorge Luna, hosts of the well-known program ‘Hablando Huevadas’.
"At the very least, throughout this year, we have allocated 20,000 soles per month for the Peruvian women's volleyball national team. Monthly, we will give each of them 1,000 soles," they announced in their recent program.
Karla Ortíz was the one who reached out to the comedians: "I wrote to Jorge trying my luck to get financial support for the team, since currently the federation is not doing well," she said.
"This is very little money, we would love to give more and if we can give more, we will. We will start with this to see how it works, but it really is very little money. These girls need all the support to continue giving us joy, they need to travel to play, they need proteins, they need water, we are doing our bit," the hosts added.
The help is not only in the form of money, but also with medical attention. Ricardo Mendoza stated that he has a friend with a clinic and the athletes will be able to receive free treatment: "A friend has a physiotherapy clinic. They will be able to go for treatment as many times as they want, whenever they want," he said.
