Jordy Caicedo scored his first goal with Tigres in the victory (2-1) against Querétaro in the sixth round of the Liga MX Apertura 2022 Tournament. However, the celebration turned into sadness as the striker was sent off.

The Ecuadorian forward came on as a substitute in the 61st minute and five minutes later, he received a great pass from Nicolás López to beat José Rodríguez. This unleashed the joy of the 'Felinos' fans at the Estadio Universitario - UANL, as it was the winning goal.

However, in the 71st minute, Caicedo committed a strong foul on Gabriel Rojas in the center of the field. At first, the referee showed him a yellow card, but after reviewing it in the VAR, he showed him a red card. The player left the field in tears.

Later, Juan Pablo Vigón would leave Tigres with 9 men (84') and, Querétaro also suffered the expulsion of David Cabrera (90'+3'). However, the result would not change and the team led by Miguel Herrera would secure their fifth consecutive victory. They now sit at the top of the table with 15 points.

Tigres vs. Querétaro: preview

The 'Felinos' put their debut setback against Cruz Azul (3-2 defeat) behind them. After that match, the team led by Miguel Herrera won four consecutive games to position themselves among the top teams in the table. On the other hand, 'Gallos Blancos' have had a different reality, as they have been unable to celebrate any victories in the tournament.

Tigres will make changes to their lineup. 'Piojo' Herrera will include Rafael Carioca in the midfield and Nicolás López in the attack. In addition, Juan Pablo Vigón will be absent due to a physical discomfort. Meanwhile, Vladimir Loroña is the big news, as he has not been able to make his debut due to injuries and a COVID-19 infection.

Under Mauro Gerk's coaching, Querétaro has drawn twice and lost three times. 'Gallos Blancos', against Chivas and Mazatlán, have yet to win in the tournament. Despite the poor streak, the coach was left with good sensations after a 2-2 draw with Guadalajara: "We saw a different team, but we have to keep working," he said.
