Discouraging news about Sebastien Haller's health

Borussia Dortmund released a statement this Saturday to provide details about the results of the treatment undergone by the forward Sebastien Haller, who was one of the reinforcements for the new season.

"The histological findings revealed a malignant testicular tumor," starts the official note from the 'Yellow Gale.' In this sense, the Ivory Coast attacker "has to undergo chemotherapy treatment." Meanwhile, the athlete "will be absent from the first team for several months."

Likewise, the BVB sports director gave a statement to the club's website. Sebastian Kehl, without going into details, stated that Haller will start the recovery process, adding that there is optimism from the Bundesliga institution for the former Ajax player to successfully conclude this process.

"Sebastien will now receive the best possible treatment. The chances of recovery are very good. We wish him and his family strength and optimism, and our thoughts are with him during this difficult time," said the executive.

In the same line, Dortmund closed the statement with the position it will take regarding this case. "We ask the media and fans to understand that we will not publish any medical details about Sebastien Haller's treatment beyond the information mentioned, neither today nor in the coming months," it concluded.

On July 19, the German club reported that the Ivorian had testicular cancer. Days later, Haller uploaded a photo on social media from a medical center to show how the treatment had started and addressed Borussia and the fans.

"Hello everyone, I wanted to inform you that Step 1 has been completed! I would like to thank Borussia Dortmund and the medical team who have been exceptional with me. Thank you also to all the nursing staff at the hospital for their support - benevolence," Haller said in the post from his official profile.
