Argentina's baseball team remains undefeated in the South American discipline championship that awards a ticket to the Santiago 2023 Pan-American Games. Yesterday they defeated Brazil 9-5 and qualified undefeated for the semifinals. This Friday they will face Peru at 8 p.m. with the aim of reaching the final.
Once again there were two players from Salta on the field: José Gerez in left field and Exequiel Talevi at second base.
Argentina had its best start in the tournament, with a strong 4-0 in the first inning, but in the second inning they couldn't score and after an error, the Brazilian team managed to reduce the advantage.
The Gauchos demonstrated their offensive power again in the third inning with 2 runs, and Brazil did the same with the same number of scores for the partial 6-3.
In the fourth inning, Argentina added one more run to extend the lead, but the best was seen in defense with a double play, between Exequiel Talevi, Agustín Tissera, and Sebastián Fontana, to close the first half of the game 7-3.
The team led by Gabriel Sansó from Salta and with Federico Bisbal on the coaching staff, added another run in the fifth inning, while the Brazilian team could not reach home plate.
In the top of the sixth inning, the Gauchos added another run and the advantage could have been greater, but they couldn't take advantage of the bases loaded. During that period, the opponent also did not score, and thus they reached the last chapter that had no runs for the Gauchos and had 2 scores for Brazil that could not tie the game.
