A week ago, the 'Manko' restaurant owned by Gastón Acurio received a series of criticisms after being accused of racism by two young people who were not allowed in.
At that time, the security pointed out the clothing that the Afro-descendant women were wearing as part of the reason why they couldn't enter the establishment. However, a former employee assures that this is just an excuse from 'Manko'.
In a clip from Amor y Fuego, the former employee details the 'reasons' given to him by members of the management for not allowing Afro-descendants to enter.
"My bosses told me 'there aren't many Africans you should let in'", he said. "'You're going to reject all Africans with some pretext'".
According to the former employee, the management instructed him not to let Afro-descendants with sneakers or wearing a t-shirt enter. He also claimed that he was just a simple worker following orders, and expressed regret for what happened.
