The 'Chaval' has matured in Alianza based on goals. Cristian Benavente has become, already, the vital player for the intimate team, whether entering or starting, as he has been in this Clausura Tournament. Against Sport Boys, he scored his second consecutive goal and once again showed that performance that says he is the great reinforcement for 2022.

After his goal-scoring debut with that great free-kick against Mannucci in February, Benavente entered a slump, mostly due to the problem he has in his Achilles heel. Despite this, he never stopped being an option for Carlos Bustos. He almost always made him play. Of the 24 matches that Alianza played in the first part of the year, between the Apertura and Libertadores, Cristian only missed 4, two from each tournament.
Against Carlos Stein and Colo Colo, at the beginning of May, he was not called up due to physical discomfort, while he did not travel to play against River (25/05) and also not to Huancayo for being suspended due to accumulation of yellow cards. He was the most used 'substitute' in the Apertura, with 11 appearances in the 14 matches he played (3 as a starter). And towards the end of the tournament, he started to settle in.
Penalty generated against San Martin -Barcos scored for the victory-, goal against Vallejo to seal the score. Consecutive great goal in the local tournament against Municipal for the 3-0 and a saving goal in the last minute against Cienciano. Thus, he gained confidence while overcoming the physical problem.
