Boca Juniors passes through a bad streak in the Professional League, adding three consecutive defeats. The 'Xeneize', who was eliminated from the Copa Libertadores, is solely focusing on the local tournament and, for that reason, the board sought a reinforcement. The new signing would be Martín Payero.
The midfielder from Córdoba arrived this Wednesday at Ezeiza airport to undergo medical exams and, in the next few hours, he would sign his contract with the 'Azul y Oro', according to information from TyC Sports. Thus, he would become a teammate of Luis Advíncula and Carlos Zambrano.
The 23-year-old player arrives at the Argentine team on loan from Middlesbrough from the English Second Division. Last season, the footballer played 17 matches in which he scored a goal and provided an assist.
Similarly, according to the media, 23-year-old Martín Payero will sign his contract with Boca Juniors for one year with a buyout option.
It is important to mention that the footballer made his professional debut in Banfield and then played for Talleres de Córdoba. In addition, he had a stint in the youth divisions of River Plate.
When does Boca Juniors play again?
The 'Xeneize' will receive Talleres this Saturday at La Bombonera starting at 6:30 p.m. (Peruvian time), with the aim of returning to the path of victory. In addition, the board of the Argentine team announced last Tuesday that Hugo Ibarra will continue leading the team until the end of the year.
