The incident took place in a store in Teubrook, Liverpool, when a shopper took her snake (which she claims is her pet), which proved to be rebellious and tried to "steal" some mints.

One of the witnesses of the strange moment, Alwyn Manard (52 years old), told Kennedy News that everything seems to indicate that it is a boa constrictor due to its 6 feet in length. The person entered to buy a bottle of water when he noticed the woman with the reptile around her neck.

He asked the owner if he could record her "pet," to which she agreed, but beyond capturing the wild animal, the reaction of the terrified shopkeeper was also immortalized, especially when it started to slither towards the candy counter.

This action caused the shopkeeper, panicked, to start screaming, while the owner remained calm at all times, to the point of speaking kindly to the snake to come back to her side: "Hello, miss", "come on, behave".

"She simply didn't seem to know what the snake was doing behind her. It must have been greedy. I felt sorry for the shopkeeper. She must have had a bad experience with a snake when she was a child because she was absolutely terrified," Alwyn said.

He did not intervene to protect his integrity

But despite this, he felt it was "wise" not to intervene because of how unpredictable this animal could be: "I didn't want to be strangled by a snake, so I didn't get involved. That's how they kill their prey, and I didn't want to be their next victim. In the end, I ran out of water."
