TikTok has made the traumatic experience of a woman from the United States trend after getting a chest piercing thanks to a "rough" piercer. Her testimony became popular on this social network, where she received scattered comments.
"Ruined exciting experience"
Our protagonist is named Ari (@bigcatari) and has been making a lot of noise after showing how much she suffered when getting her upper chest pierced, specifically on the sternum.
The video was shared on June 28th and since then, it has accumulated over 12.3 million views: "Watch me get an exciting experience ruined by a rough piercer", reads the text embedded in the video.
The 1-minute clip shows the young woman lying down, looking up, visibly nervous, waiting for the procedure to begin. Noticing her anxiety, her friend who accompanies her says, "You're doing great, sweetheart," to which she gives a nervous smile as the piercer approaches.
Lack of empathy
Without further consideration, apparently, without noticing her client's fear, and without prior warning, he stabs the needle into her chest, we hear her gasp, her body makes movements that show her pain.
The person puts a tissue on the entry wound, but that's not all, because he would say a phrase that shows how little empathy he has: "Don't be mad at me, you wanted it (the piercing)".
Ari explains in the video that she wasn't upset, just uncomfortable. But it doesn't end there, as the piercer plays with the jewelry before removing them from her chest and then putting them back on, causing her skin to stretch when doing so: "So hard on me? Is it supposed to be... not flat?"
Users support her
In the comments section, there were diverse opinions, where the majority supported her, assuring that the piercer was not only rough but also a bit rude: "How is it healing now? It all looked wrong?", "that piercing didn't go as it should have."
Greater attention on the sternum
According to WebMD, sternum piercings require particular attention for this reason: "Due to the amount of skin affected by these long bar piercings, a sternum piercing may take longer to heal than one on the eyebrow or ear (...) However, it should be completely healed after 6 to 13 weeks".
