Peruvian representatives continue to bring joy to the country and had a great day at the 2022 Bolivarian Games in Valledupar. The athletes won two more gold medals and, as a result, the national delegation now has 19 gold medals.
Ximena Zorrilla obtained first place in the hammer throw discipline. Additionally, during the competition, the athlete set a new national record by reaching 66.96 meters.
Then, Jovana de la Cruz won the gold medal after triumphing in the 10,000-meter athletics competition. Both national representatives received the affection and admiration of users through social media.
"Way to go, always making Peru proud", "Congratulations to you and may the success continue", "Keep it up. National pride" or "I'm very happy about the victories at the Bolivarian Games", were some of the supportive messages from internet users.
It is important to mention that, in the morning hours, Luis Fernando Barco won the gold medal in the golf competition at the Bolivarian Games held in Valledupar (Colombia).
When do the Bolivarian Games end?
The tournament started on June 24th and will end on July 5th. So far, the Peruvian delegation is in third place in the medal table with 70 medals (19 gold, 16 silver, and 35 bronze).
