Goodbye has come. Edgar Benítez is no longer a player for Alianza Lima. The player's contract ended at midnight today and the club decided not to renew it. Apparently, they will use the foreign player spot to reinforce the defensive line.

After the club's announcement, the former Alianza Lima player said goodbye to the fans, team, and teammates through a post on his social media.

"I leave with my head held high, I gave my best for Alianza and to be a champion. Thank you for everything, wherever I go I will always remember these colors and I will always carry you in my heart. Teammates and fans, success in everything. Thank you Alianza Lima," stated the Paraguayan World Cup player.

It should be noted that Benítez joined Alianza Lima halfway through last season, scoring 1 goal and providing 1 assist in 19 matches.
