Alianza Lima will participate in the international U18 tournament "Mitad del Mundo" with Gremio, Talleres de Córdoba, and Independiente del Valle.

What a challenge. After a pandemic that paralyzed underage competition in Peruvian football, Alianza Lima has returned with strength and has been demonstrating the power of its youth academy with very good performances in the national championships, being one of the protagonists of the Reserves Tournament.

Now, it's time to face international opponents for the team from La Victoria, thanks to the invitation that the under-18 squad of Alianza Lima has received to participate in the sixth edition of the Mitad del Mundo International Cup 2022, organized by Club Independiente del Valle from Ecuador.

The tournament in which Alianza Lima will take part will be held from July 15th to 23rd in the city of Sangolqui, Ecuador, and will feature the presence of eight important teams from Latin America, divided into two series of four clubs each.

The top two teams from each group will qualify for the semifinals; the 'eliminated' teams will continue playing until the remaining positions are defined and thus determine which team will take all the glory of the international championship.

Alianza Lima will be part of Group B along with Gremio (Brazil), Talleres de Córdoba (Argentina), and Atlético Nacional (Colombia). Group A will be composed of Independiente del Valle, Universidad Católica, RB Bragantino, and Santos Laguna.

In the first phase, the 'potrillos' will make their debut on July 15th against Talleres (3:30 p.m.), on the 17th they will face Atlético Nacional (11:00 a.m.), and on the 19th they will play against Gremio (11:00 a.m.). The matches will be played at the High-Performance Center of Independiente del Valle and at the Banco de Guayaquil Stadium.
