The French national team’s performance in the UEFA Nations League has not been good, and they have a tough match against Austria in the third match of Group 1 in League A. ‘Les Bleus’ were trailing on the scoreboard, but the team managed to react towards the end, thanks to the good finish by Kylian Mbappé.
The clock had passed 82 minutes and Didier Deschamps' team kept attacking, although they had an evident problem when it came to finishing. However, the reigning world champions only needed a small space to cause damage, after a brilliant combination.
It all happened in a failed advance by the Austrian national team, which was easily suppressed. After the steal, the ball reached Kylian Mbappé, who made a short pass to midfielder Christopher Nkunku and quickly ran into the space between the two rival center-backs.
Nkunku analyzed the situation, waited for the right moment, and played a through pass for 'Kiki'. The PSG forward entered the area and, while receiving pressure from a defender, finished with a powerful shot towards the right post, which was guarded by goalkeeper Patrick Pentz.
Mbappé's shot power was enough to inflate the nets and declare the partial draw. Finally, the story did not change any further and Group 1 of League A remained with Denmark as the leader, with six points; while Austria and Croatia are tied with four points. France is at the bottom of the table, with two points.
