Byron Castillo is now a player for Grupo Pachuca, but he doesn't have a defined destination, according to Renato Paiva, León's coach.
The Portuguese strategist spoke with El Canal del Fútbol and clarified that it is still to be decided whether the La Tri full-back will play on his team or at Pachuca.
"Grupo Pachuca has a president, Mr. Jesús Martínez. From there, it is managed with me and Guillermo Almada. There is still no final decision on where he will play, but everyone knows my admiration and affection for Byron Castillo; I always considered him the best in the league," explained Paiva, hinting that he wishes to have Castillo on his team.
Although he clarified that the team has clear needs and an issue with the foreign player quota: "There is an important thing to evaluate, which is the foreign player quota. Our priority in León will be a center-back and a forward. After that, we will manage the foreign players who are already here, if some are placed on other teams, and if spots open up for Byron."
"He is a player that I like a lot and that would help me a lot with the internal competition with Ramírez. There is no doubt about that," he added regarding the contribution he can make to his team.
