The women's title of Roland Garros 2022 was won by Polish player Iga Swiatek (WTA: 1), who defeated American player Cori Gauff (WTA: 23) by 2-0, with scores of 6-1 and 6-3. The performance of the European tennis player was brilliant throughout the tournament and she had a special fan during the decisive match at the Court Philippe-Chatrier: Robert Lewandowski attended the event.
After the end of the presentation in Paris, the authorities of the French Open proceeded to carry out the protocol ceremony, under the watchful gaze of the fans who came to the stands of the sports venue. However, before the ceremony, the champion went to greet her family.
At that moment, Iga Swiatek noticed the presence of Lewandowski, another illustrious athlete from Poland. After spotting the still Bayern Munich footballer, the tennis player did not hide her surprise, which she reflected in her gestures on her face, and went to greet him. The meeting ended with a fraternal hug.
After the encounter, Robert did not hesitate to acknowledge the outstanding performance of the Roland Garros winner through a social media post. "What a match! Congratulations, Iga, you did it!" wrote the goal scorer on Instagram.

The second Grand Slam for Swiatek
At the age of 21, Polish player Iga Swiatek won her second Grand Slam in her career, both curiously at the French Open: she won the trophy in 2020 and this 2022. After celebrating, the tennis player shared an emotional message:
"The only thing I have learned in these two years is that all you can do and all you can control is your work, your effort, your commitment. So, together with my team, we try it every day, step by step. And here we are, in this incredible moment, with this incredible achievement. It's time to reflect a little on that, enjoy, click the "pause" button, rest a little, appreciate everything. Thank you tennis. Sometimes you are challenging, but I appreciate everything you give me."
