PSG is one of the clubs that most desires to win the Champions League. They have never achieved it in their history, made big signings that did not pay off conquering the 'Orejona', and they are also one of the teams that have suffered unforgettable episodes.

The elimination at the Bernabeu against Real Madrid is the most recent chapter in the history of PSG in the Champions League. But there is more and one of those who have experienced these situations from within is Marco Verratti. The Italian was asked about these situations, which he described as "injustices", although he said that the 6-1 comeback by Barcelona at Camp Nou is still unforgettable.

"There is not just one, you know? But the comeback against Barcelona... (2017). That night, no matter what happened, we would have lost the match, 3 or 4-1, for sure. But with a different referee and VAR, we would never have suffered the 6-1. It is the biggest injustice we have suffered, it has been tough," said the midfielder in 'Le Parisien'.

The painful eliminations of PSG in the Champions League

Marco Verratti, in the ranks of PSG since 2012, also mentioned the clash with Manchester United in the round of 16 of the Champions League in 2019. After the Parisian victory at Old Trafford, the 'Red Devils' triumphed agonizingly in France with a penalty awarded by VAR.

"A painful match is also the one against Manchester United, because it happened in the year the VAR was introduced. There is always something against us. Without the VAR, no one on the field would have seen anything, no one would have said anything (about Kimpembe's handball in the area)," he mentioned.

PSG was eliminated from the current Champions League by Real Madrid, after having a 0-2 lead in the aggregate score. Verratti mentioned that the French team needs to "suffer to win".

"At this level, in the Champions League, these are matches where anything can happen very quickly. And Real Madrid repeated it against Chelsea and Manchester City. Madrid is a team that is used to playing these matches and suffering. Here in Paris, sometimes we forget that we have to suffer to win. And that is something that we have to understand together: the players, the club, and the fans," he concluded.
