A strong security device, made up of a thousand UIP personnel and dozens of agents from other units of the National Police such as cavalry, canine guides, subway, TEDAX, aerial and anti-drone means, Special Operative Groups (GOES), and telecommunications, guard the city in the lead-up to the match.
The security operation consists of four phases, the first of which was launched on Tuesday on the eve of the match to be held at the Ramón Sánchez-Pizjuán Stadium.
This first phase, which is about to be completed, has consisted mainly of reinforcing security at the train station, airport, and around the stadium.
The following two phases, considered "critical," will take place on Wednesday, both before and during the match.
As is usual in this type of police operation for football matches, the operation will be based on three security circles at the stadium with designated access points where searches will be conducted to prevent the introduction of prohibited items into the field.
To access the second filter, it will be necessary to have a ticket, while the closest circle to the stadium will be made up of its own gates. Here, the ticket will be validated and attendees will undergo another check.
The last phase will begin after the match and will involve facilitating the evacuation of the stadium, as well as re-strengthening security in areas where fans are transported by bus, at the Sevilla Santa Justa station, and at Seville airport.
