Boca Juniors Player Accused of Sexual Assault and Attempted Homicide
The Colombian player was accused by his partner of sexual assault and attempted homicide.
The Argentinian Prosecution prohibited the Colombian soccer player from Boca Juniors, Sebastián Villa, from leaving the country and approaching the woman who accused him this week of sexual assault and attempted homicide, according to the state agency Télam.
The public ministry also communicated that the accuser will have to appear before the prosecutor in charge of the case on Monday to ratify the accusation.
Boca Juniors published a statement on their website in which they "make themselves available" to the accuser and "reaffirm their total commitment in situations of gender and equality, as stated in the club's first Protocol for dealing with cases of Gender-based Violence and Gender Identity."
The Buenos Aires club does not make any reference to any sanction against their player, who will be a starter in the Argentine League Cup semifinal against Racing Club. AFP
