The legend of US women's soccer, Hope Solo, takes the first step to solve her alcoholism problem
Former goalkeeper of the US national team used her official Twitter account to announce that she has started a treatment to stop drinking.
"I contacted the Hall of Fame and respectfully requested a postponement of my induction ceremony until 2023. I will voluntarily enter an inpatient alcohol treatment program to address my alcohol problems," reads the statement from the historic former football player.
Solo stated that this request is because she needs to focus on her treatment. "At this moment, my energy and focus are entirely directed towards my health, healing, and taking care of my family. I want to thank the Hall of Fame for their support and for understanding my decision," she concluded. Hope Solo's voluntary admission to the mentioned treatment comes almost a month after being involved in an altercation for driving under the influence.
