Flavio Maestri was one of the Peruvian football players who shone in the 90s and the early 21st century. The former forward also had a very extensive career with the Peruvian National Team, as he played a crucial role in five World Cup qualifiers (1994, 1998, 2002, 2006, and 2010) and participated in four Copa America tournaments (1991, 1993, 1999, and 2004). During his time with the national team, he left a great mark that is remembered by Peruvian football fans.
After retiring from football in 2009 with the Celeste team, Maestri pursued a career as a coach and led Coronel Bolognesi de Tacna and Willy Serrato de La Libertad in 2014.
However, currently, the former national team player works as an ambassador for the Peruvian Football Federation (FPF). One of his roles is to visit the different centers that the federation has throughout the country to share his knowledge and guide the new talents of Peru.

The forward managed to conquer five Peruvian titles with Sporting Cristal, achieving it in 1991, 1994, 1995, 1996, and 2002. He also became champion with U. de Chile in 1999 and 2000, as well as winning two local cups in 1998 and 2000. Later, in his return to Peru, he was able to lift the cup with Alianza Lima in 2004 and 2006.
