It was a friendly match, but it ended in a street fight
The summer classic between Estudiantes and Gimnasia de La Plata had a disgraceful ending three minutes before the end of the match. As can be seen on Youtube.
The players of Estudiantes and Gimnasia got into a brawl of punches and kicks when 'Pincha' was leading 1-0. In fact, the match was suspended by the referee.

The tremendous anger broke out after referee Silvio Trucco expelled Santiago Ascacíbar for knocking down a Gimnasia player. But tensions were already high due to the expulsions of Alvaro Pereira (Estudiantes) and goalkeeper Enrique Bologna (Gimnasia).
Without a doubt, one of the toughest scenes was the one involving Mariano Andújar and Nicolás Mazzola. The Estudiantes goalkeeper tried to defend a teammate and then punched other opponents.
Su ataque fue respondido por los jugadores de Gimnasia, quienes lograron derribarlo, y en el suelo, Nicolás Mazzola y otros futbolistas le propinaron varias patadas al golero. ¡Lamentable!
