Not many people in the world are going to have a better week than beloved play-by-play announcer Jim Nantz.
Tonight, he’s calling the national title game between Kansas and North Carolina. In just a few days, he’ll be making the trip to Augusta, Georgia to call the Masters as well.
Before that, though, Nantz has his hands full with the Tar Heels and Jayhawks. During the first half of action, Nantz and the rest of the basketball world watched as North Carolina went on a 14-0 run.
The Tar Heels got a huge performance from Brady Manek in the first half, which led to an incredible – and awful – joke from Nantz. He used The Bangles’ song “Manic Monday” as a pun for “Manek Monday.
Of course, the basketball world loved how bad the joke was.
“JIM NANTZ STOLE MY MANEK MONDAY JOKE He has to take me to The Masters now. That’s the rule,” one person said.

“Now that Jim Nantz has used it, the Manek Monday joke is off the table, folks,” said someone else.

“I hope Jim Nantz popped his shoulder out patting himself on the back for landing that Manek Monday joke,” Mike Golic Jr said.

Nantz may have pulled the joke out too early.
Perhaps he should have waited for the second half.
