The first part of the UEFA Champions League quarter-finals ended. The matches that were played between Tuesday, April 5th, and Wednesday, April 6th, resulted in victories for the favorite teams in each tie, except for Bayern Munich.
The first two matches played in this stage of the Champions League were Liverpool against Benfica, in which the Reds won 3-1 with goals from Konaté, Sadio Mané, and Colombian Luis Díaz. The second match was Manchester City vs. Atlético Madrid. Pep Guardiola's team struggled against the Atlético defense but managed to win 1-0 with a goal from Kevin De Bruyne.
On Wednesday, April 6th, Chelsea faced Real Madrid in a match played in London, and the victory went to Real Madrid with a score of 3-1. The Madridistas took an important step thanks to a hat-trick from Karim Benzema. The other match was Villarreal vs. Bayern Munich at Estadio La Cerámica, which ended with a 1-0 victory for the Spanish team against Bayern Munich.
