Christian Cueva gave part of his time to give statements to GOLPERU in which he confessed that his best match, until now, was in Barranquilla against Colombia in one of the last dates of the Qatar 2022 qualifiers. For the '10' the result was important and it was worth giving the level he gave on that hot afternoon.

When asked about his best match with the Peruvian National Team, Christian Cueva declared that for now his best match has been against Colombia on January 28, 2022. This result served decisively for Peru to reach the playoff spot for the Qatar 2022 World Cup. In fact, 'Cuevita' has become the most decisive footballer of the national team.
He tells it as follows: "The best I could give to Peru, really... look at the moment we experienced with Colombia, I feel that it was a match we had to win. We felt it was the moment we hit, thank God. I stick with that match, regardless of whether we didn't play so well but I think we did what we set out to do. It was the match where we broke something to continue this path".
As it is known, in these Qatar 2022 qualifiers the Peruvian National Team started with one point in 5 matches played and after Peru's victory in Quito against Ecuador, the situation changed completely for Ricardo Gareca's team. In fact, in the last few matches everything has been good news for Peru, obtaining key victories.
