The game engine published a video showcasing its technical improvements, featuring a scene starring what appears to be a real human despite being computer-generated.

Unity has showcased the full visual potential of its namesake engine and specifically its real-time 3D (RT3D) technology with 'Enemies', an internal project that demonstrates the evolution of human recreation to achieve high levels of realism.

'Enemies' is a project by Demo Team, a two-minute cinematic trailer that showcases a intricately decorated circular room, a mechanical platform that activates and lowers the central platform, where a woman is sitting at a table with a chessboard.

The video specifically focuses on the woman, created using RT3D technology, and it improves upon the work done in 'The Heretic', an almost eight-minute short film from 2020 made by the same team, as explained on Unity's website. The improvements are mainly found in the skin, hair and fur, eyes, and shading.

The realism and detail with which the woman is depicted is the result of the latest improvements introduced in their high-definition rendering pipeline (HDRP), the new high-range adaptive volume lighting system, a new strand-based hair solution, and an evolved digital human toolbox.
