As it is known, the illegal purchase of fireworks is a crime in Peru, which is why the National Superintendence for the Control of Security Services, Weapons, Ammunition, and Explosives for Civil Use (Sucamec) has made the official application available to locate these items' fairs.

For this occasion, the only available pyrotechnic fair is located in Arequipa, and it is called 'Fuegos Artificiales Júpiter', located at Door N° 4 of the Mario Vargas Llosa Metropolitan Palace of Fine Arts.

However, the entity announced that as the days leading up to Christmas and New Year pass, more points of purchase will be opened to the public, with the intention of offering legal and appropriate fireworks for the celebrations of this December 2021.

What requirements must pyrotechnic fairs meet?

According to Sucamec, these fairs must be authorized under the necessary protocols, a measure that started with the first authorized fair in Arequipa.

Among the orders to comply with are: possession of the pyrotechnics handler ID issued by Sucamec, firefighting and first aid equipment, accident-trained personnel, among other important points.

The initiative for responsible purchase of fireworks will be carried out by the entity under the hashtag #CeroPirotecniaIlegal, which seeks to stop clandestine distribution and promote safe sales spaces for non-hazardous items for the population.
