This Sunday, December 12, another edition of the Madrid derby will be played. The Real Madrid, leader of the Spanish tournament, will host Atleti for matchday 17 of LaLiga. The "merengues" will seek to extend their advantage against their classic rival in the Spanish capital.
The "colchoneros", on the other hand, are obliged to breach the white home in order not to lose sight of the leader. This historic confrontation will also serve to see in action two of the best goalkeepers in the world: Thibaut Courtois and Jan Oblak.
Both goalkeepers have maintained consistency for several seasons, and as recognition of this, Courtois and Oblak have won the Zamora Award. This award is given at the end of each season to the goalkeeper with the least goals conceded in the Spanish league.
The Belgian goalkeeper won this distinction in the 2012-2013, 2013-2014, and 2019-2020 seasons -the first two defending the "Atleti" jersey-. Meanwhile, the Slovenian won this trophy in the 2015-2016, 2016-2017, 2017-2018, 2018-2019, and 2020-2021 leagues.
