Peruvian Delegation at the Pan American Junior Games Cali 2021

The Peruvian Institute of Sport (IPD) and the Peruvian Olympic Committee (COP) honored on Friday the athletes who won medals at the Pan American Junior Games Cali-Valle 2021, an international event where the national delegation won a total of 35 medals, distributed as 6 gold medals, 15 silver medals, and 14 bronze medals.

The recognition took place at the National Stadium through a ceremony, which was attended by the presidents of the IPD, Gustavo San Martín, and the COP, Renzo Manyari. Likewise, most of the 160 athletes who participated in the Junior Pan American Games in Colombia attended the event.

On the other hand, the representatives of athletics and tennis, who are competing in their respective championships in the United States, were not present at the event. However, the national women's under-23 volleyball team, which won the silver medal after a great final against Brazil, participated in the ceremony.

As a reminder, the Peruvian delegation participated in 30 sports, of which two were team sports (volleyball and softball). Peru demonstrated great ability in all the disciplines it competed in and thanks to that, it won 35 medals, ranking 12th in the overall standings.
