This Sunday, December 12, the 2021 season of the Formula 1 World Championship will be defined at the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix. Lewis Hamilton and Max Verstappen arrive in the United Arab Emirates tied in the accumulated points for the year. So, a victory on the Yas Marina circuit by either of the drivers would be the final blow to win the title.
In the face of this, the Mercedes driver knows that it won't be easy to beat the Dutchman due to the great year he has had, but the comeback in the last races gives him and the team more possibilities to be champions.
“It would be special for the team, for everyone inside, because halfway through the season some had already written us off; so if we achieve it, it would be tremendous, for the enormous effort made by everyone, in what has undoubtedly been a real emotional roller coaster”, Hamilton said in a press conference.

Likewise, the British athlete commented that he is focused on the tests that start this Friday and that he does not pay attention to the rumors or controversies generated in previous competitions.
“I don't waste energy thinking that the World Championship could be decided by an accident or things like that. I can't control what is being said, what other people say or think. I come here to try to win and do my best”, he said.
Finally, the 36-year-old driver surprised by mentioning that he sees "this World Championship like any other, I don't see it as the most important", since he considers that every year he competes without looking back and "as if it were the first time".
