Surfer from Peru qualifies for the top category of surfing
"For surfing, it's like going to the World Cup," compared Lucca Mesinas his qualification to the World Tour.
Lucca Mesinas, recently qualified for the top division of world surfing, commented on his achievement to the cameras of América Deportes.
"We knew all the math that had to happen to qualify. Everything fell into place and once it was achieved, it was simply a celebration."
Our medalist at Lima 2019 is the first Hispanic American to achieve this milestone.
Lucca's first competition will be in January and he already knows the plan to stay in the premier division of surfing.
"There are 32 surfers competing and the top 20 are the ones who stay for the next year," he explained.
