"Given the current situation, the club has pending balances from September that were told to the players would be paid by December 10. It is not correct, nor true, that the players are owed two months, that is completely false. I can confirm it with documents and deposits in their accounts. We are a serious club and a formal board," said the executive, who clarified the criteria used to pay some in full and others partially.

On the other hand, he acknowledged that at some point members of the squad covered the costs of medicine, rehydrating drinks, and medical examinations such as tomographs.

"I want to be clear that there are two participants from the coaching staff who at some point provided support during difficult times and, on the accounting side, that is subject to reimbursement. At some point, cash flows did not occur punctually and this led to some cases where, of their own will and not by the club's demand, one or two members of the coaching staff said 'we will lend'. On January 1, when we have a different level of cash flow, it will be paid," he assured.

The reason behind the debt

Giancarlo Cesaro also explained the reason why Juan Aurich is facing economic problems that have led to this situation. However, he insisted that his board is serious.

"Juan Aurich is a club that generates income through sponsorship, I understand the players' discontent. I want to make it clear that this board is not an unprofessional board, it is not a board that applies the philosophy or the common approach called 'dead dog'. That does not happen with this board or with Club Juan Aurich. We are a club that will turn 100 years old and, despite the complications, we fulfill our obligations," he asserted.

"Unfortunately, they have been motivated by seeing a football club owe its players five months (referring to Sport Chavelines). That must have motivated them to exert some kind of pressure, but it is in vain because we have been making payments. The contract states that the player's participation is until the club finishes playing the championship, and that was in September," he concluded.
