First Alert Forecast: Clear & chilly for the Palmetto Bowl today - Milder for Sunday

COLUMBIA, S.C. (WIS) - Good weather for the Palmetto Bowl in Columbia on Saturday with clear skies and temps around 60. Milder for Sunday with more clouds.

First Alert Weather Headlines:

· A chilly start today with highs in the upper 20s to near 30 with clear skies

· Plenty of sunshine for today with highs climbing only into the upper 50s to near 60

· Temperatures will drop into the 40s for the Palmetto Bowl between the South Carolina Gamecocks and the Clemson Tigers Saturday evening at Williams-Brice Stadium in Columbia

· More clouds are expected Sunday as a weak cold front pushes in. Highs will be a bit milder, reaching the mid 60s but drop to the mid 50s for Monday

· Much warmer weather moves in by the end of next week

First Alert Weather Story:

A chilly start this morning with temperatures in the 20s and 30s. We’ll see plenty of sunshine as we move though the afternoon but temperatures don’t climb too much as we’ll only see upper 50s to near 60.

Temperatures will be falling into the 40s for the Palmetto Bowl in Columbia between the South Carolina Gamecocks and the Clemson Tigers at Williams-Brice Stadium. Bundle up! We’ll see clear skies. Enjoy the game.

For Sunday, we’ll see more clouds as a cold front pushes through the area. No rain is expected though. Morning temperatures will be in the upper 30s and lower 40s. Highs will be in the mid 60s.

Behind the front, our high temperatures will dip into the mid 50s for Monday under mostly sunny skies.

Warmer weather is expected next week. In fact, we’ll see high temperatures in the low 70s by the end of the week into next weekend. A few isolated showers are possible next weekend.

Sunday: More clouds than sunshine with highs getting into the mid 60s

Friday: Sunshine with passing clouds. Highs in the mid 70s
