One of the many Black Friday college football matchups has the potential to decide the fate of half of the Big Ten Championship, as the Iowa Hawkeyes look to give themselves a chance to play for a conference title, but have to go through the Nebraska Cornhuskers first.
Iowa comes into Friday afternoon with an impressive 9-2 overall record, and a 6-2 record in Big Ten action, currently tied with the Wisconsin Badgers for the top spot in the East Division. However, the Hawkeyes need to win to have a chance to play for the championship, as they fell to the Badgers on Halloween Eve earlier this season, thus giving the tiebreaker to Wisconsin. However, since that defeat, Iowa has played well, winning three-straight, including pulling out a rather close one against Illinois last week.

Nebraska is 1-7 is Big Ten play this season, and are 3-8 this season. However, what many do not see, is how close the Huskers have been to winning this season. Their nine-point loss to Ohio State three weeks ago is their largest margin of victory this season. Every other game has seen Nebraska fall by a single score, including three-point losses to Michigan and Michigan State, and a seven-point loss to then-no. 3 Oklahoma back in September.
This will be the 52nd meeting between the two schools, plaing annually since the 2011 season when Nebraska joined the conference. The Huskers are 29-19-3 against Iowa, but the Hawkeyes have won six straight dating back to the 2015 season.
