This Sunday, November 21, the 2021 Qatar Formula 1 Grand Prix took place.

The great winner was the British driver Lewis Hamilton, who dominated the race from start to finish. However, this was not the only surprise, as the Spanish driver Fernando Alonso finished in third place and returned to register his name on a podium after seven years.

The two-time F1 world champion was also named 'Driver of the Day'. In statements to the press, he expressed his happiness with the result obtained.

"It had been seven years since we last reached the podium; we came close in some races, but it couldn't be. Finally, we did it," said Fernando Alonso after finishing the Qatar Grand Prix race.

"I even thought I could lead the race by starting with the soft tires; that I could pass Hamilton at the beginning, even. In the end, it was very tight with 'Checo' (Mexican driver Sergio Pérez from Red Bull, who finished fourth), but I did it," added the Spanish driver.

In this way, Fernando Alonso not only finished on the Formula 1 podium after seven years, but also became the sixth driver to achieve this feat after Michael Schumacher, according to Spanish journalist 'Mister Chip'.
