"I even thought I could lead the race by starting with the soft tires; that I could pass Hamilton at the beginning, even. In the end, it was very tight with 'Checo' (Mexican driver Sergio Pérez from Red Bull, who finished fourth), but I did it," added the Spanish driver.
In this way, Fernando Alonso not only finished on the Formula 1 podium after seven years, but also became the sixth driver to achieve this feat after Michael Schumacher, according to Spanish journalist 'Mister Chip'.
