Alexia Sotomayor has won her second gold medal in the South American Aquatic Sports Peru Bicentennial. Last Tuesday, she set a new record in the region and became the champion in the 100 meters backstroke. This time, the Inca athlete reached first place in the 200 meters and broke another record.

The Peruvian is making history in sports once again. Alexia won the gold medal in the 200 meters backstroke with a time of 2.17.88, which is a new record set by the 15-year-old athlete. In this way, she brings Peru its fourth medal in the current South American competition.

On Tuesday, November 9, the swimmer made her debut in the South American Aquatic Sports, where she achieved a time of 1:03.98 and broke the record set by Brazilian Fernanda de Goeij, who registered 01:04.53 in 2015.
